2011 World AIDS Day Events - "GETTING TO ZERO!"
Cathedral of Hope of the United Church of Christ and the Interfaith Peace Chapel
is hosting a community-wide World AIDS Day Commemoration on Thursday, December 1,
2011. The theme for this year’s World AIDS Day is "Getting to Zero: Zero New HIV
Infections, Zero Discrimination and Zero AIDS Related Deaths."
AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT DISPLAY
Twenty panels from The Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display at the Interfaith Peace Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
GET TESTED!
Free and anonymous HIV/Syphilis Testing will be offered from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00
p.m. provided by UT Southwestern Medical Center.
RECEPTION by F.A.C.E.
F.A.C. E - Faith Acceptance Caring Educating, an HIV/AIDS support group at Cathedral of Hope UCC will be hosting a reception at 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Organizations and resource groups from across our community are invited to participate with information tables at the reception.
WORSHIP SERVICE OF HOPE & REMEMBRANCE
At 7 p.m., we will have our annual worship service of Hope and remembrance in the sanctuary at Cathedral of Hope. Rev. Rachel Ciupek-Reed will preach and the Turtle Creek Chorale will perform in tribute to those who are living with and/or those who have lost their battle with HIV/AIDS
